What is this black box on my DEWALT pneumatic (air) tool's inlet port?

If your newly purchased DEWALT pneumatic mechanic's tool has the below security tag covering the air inlet port, the two tabs at the side need to be cut off with sturdy scissors, diagonal cutters or similar. This will allow the security tag to be removed and discarded.
