The D55168 is rated for a life of approximately 500 hours. That time will shorten in dry or abrasive environments and lengthen in a normal workshop environment. The motor brushes are the life limiter. These can be changed by an authorized DEWALT service center to provide an additional 500 hours of life. We recommend taking the compressor to an authorized DEWALT service center for motor/pump assembly replacement at the 1000 hour mark.
